Arlesheim

Arlesheim (Basel German: Arlese) is a Swiss municipality not far from Basel and the main town of the Arlesheim district in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, with a current population of about 9287 (as of 31 December 2016). Arlesheim shares its railway station with the neighbouring municipality of Dornach, where the General Anthroposophical Society at the Goetheanum founded by Rudolf Steiner has its headquarters.
Arlesheim is best known for the Arlesheim Clinic (formerly the Ita Wegman Clinic), which works on the basis of anthroposophically extended medicine, and the anthroposophical medicinal products company Weleda, which has its headquarters here.
