Theosophy and Occultism

Theosophie und Okkultismus

Fifteen "lessons", mainly in the circle of Clara Motzkus, Berlin, presumably from 1903. According to fragmentary notes and transcripts.

Contents

The fifteen lessons collected here originate from meetings in a private circle - initially in the Berlin flat of the theosophist Clara Motzkus -; more intimate presentations were possible here than in public lectures or even writings. The transcripts and fragmentary notes of these lessons contain, among other things, explanations on the subjects of evolution, secrecy and mysteries, mysteries, Rosicrucians, Pythagoreans, embryology, human suffering, immortality, reincarnation, the origin of evil, stages of consciousness. Further lessons from the same period are contained in volume GA 88 of the Collected Works. Due to the fragmentary transcripts, the messages are of a rather selective nature, but they do give an idea of the intense mood of the meetings, which is also expressed in a letter by Clara Motzkus in which she reports on the events: "Dr. Steiner draws from ever greater depths and pours out on the listeners." In the appendix, facsimiles and transcriptions from one of Rudolf Steiner's notebooks are printed for the lesson of 18 September 1903. The volume documents how Rudolf Steiner allows his audience to participate in his occult research.
