Satchakrabedha (Sanskritsix-chakra piercing) refers to the process of the gradual awakening of the Kundalini force in the course of spiritual training, whereby the lotus flowers lying above the root chakra are gradually "pierced" by the Kundalini force in an ascending line. Only when the Kundalini pierces the crown chakra on this path can it unite with the cosmic source, with the world soul, to which it owes its origin. However, since this path is fraught with great danger, because the deeply unconscious forces of the lower chakras are difficult to control, many schools begin instead with the development of the heart centre.
