The holy Mount Horeb (Hebrewחורב "wasteland, desert area"; GreekΧωρήβ; Latinhoreb) was, according to the Old Testament, the place where Yahweh revealed himself to Moses as the I Am in the burning bush. Whether Horeb is identical with Mount Sinai, where Moses later received the Ten Commandments, or whether it was equated with Mount Sinai only later, is an open question for biblical scholars to this day.
