Ishvari (Sanskritईश्वरी īśvarī f. "mistress") is an epithet of the goddess Durga or the goddess Lakshmi in Hinduism and also generally stands for the divine mother par excellence. The Serpent Power of Kundalini or Shakti, which is closely related to the (maternal) reproductive powers, is also occasionally referred to as Ishvari.
