Übersetzungen und freie Übertragungen verschiedener Werke

With extensive illustration section (manuscripts, notes, etc.). Edited by Monika Philippi, with the collaboration of Marit Indbjo Gjerde for Olaf Åsteson's Dream Song.

Contents

This volume contains a compilation of Rudolf Steiner's texts, which have been published only partially or with reservations, and which have resulted from the translation of foreign-language works. They range from professional translations of a 250-page book for a fee to a two-page re-publication as an example for a lecture.

It was previously unknown that Steiner had translated Helena P. Blavatsky, as the books in question were published without any indication of a translator. However, from correspondence with the publisher Max Altmann preserved in the archives, it is clear that Rudolf Steiner was behind Altmann's editions of "Schlüssel zur Theosophie" (1907) and "Theosophisches Glossarium" (1908, first German edition). Both translations are printed in this volume.

In addition, the volume contains translations of smaller texts, such as the "Dream Song of Olaf Åsteson" with three previously unpublished stanzas, the German version of which was produced in cooperation with the Norwegian writer Ingeborg Møller-Lindholm, and a partial translation of the Canticle of the Sun by Francis of Assisi.
