Collected Essays on Cultural and Contemporary History 1887 - 1901

Gesammelte Aufsätze zur Kultur- und Zeitgeschichte 1887 – 1901

Contents

The essays in this volume are divided into four main sections:

The first part contains Rudolf Steiner's contributions on daily politics for the "Deutsche Wochenschrift " (Vienna 1888), which represented the national interests of Germany in Austria.

The second part contains cultural and contemporary historical articles written by Rudolf Steiner mainly for the "Magazin für Literatur", which he edited in Berlin. Particularly noteworthy are, among other things, his early decisive statement against anti-Semitism or his commitment to individualistic anarchism in an open correspondence with John Henry Mackay.

The third part contains Rudolf Steiner's contributions on Nietzsche and the Nietzsche Archive. Of particular importance are his essays on the occasion of the dispute over the Nietzsche Archive in 1890.

The fourth part contains smaller book reviews and various other contributions.
