Reprint of the edition Berlin and Stuttgart 1883-1897. Edited by Rudolf Steiner with introductions, footnotes and explanations in the text. 4th edition (special edition). Dornach, Verlag 1982.

Contents

Rudolf Steiner, through Karl Julius Schröer, edited Goethe's scientific writings for Kürschner's "Deutsche National-Litteratur" between 1884 and 1897. The intensive examination of Goethe's way of looking at things was the starting point for Steiner's epistemological work and also had an effect on his entire oeuvre.
