In June 1910 Rudolf Steiner accepted an invitation from the Scandinavian Section of the Theosophical Society to give a series of lectures on "The Mission of Individual Folk Souls in Connection with Germanic-Nordic Mythology". The venue was the Nobel Institute in Oslo (then: Kristiania). The lectures comprise a systematic and authoritative presentation by Rudolf Steiner on "Folk Spirits" and "Time Spirits" as entities of the spiritual hierarchies effective in historical evolution.
