The lectures summarised in this volume belong to the teaching material of Rudolf Steiner's [[Esoteric School]] in so far as they were intended to prepare a certain form of esoteric work. The [[Temple Legend]] and the [[Wood of the Cross Legend|Wood of the Cross]] or [[Golden Legend]] were the main meditation material.
