The most famous passage is found in the [[Apocalypse of John]]. '''Six hundred and sixty-six''' here stands for the '''Number of the Beast''' ({{Greek|Ἀριθμὸς τοῦ θηρίου}} ''Arithmos tou Thēriou''), which is also the number of a human being:
