The Gospel of Mark

Das Markus-Evangelium

Ten Lectures, Basel 15 to 24 September 1912 (Cycle 24)

Contents

Starting with the figure of Hector and Empedocles and their reincarnation in post-Christian times, as well as Zarathustra and the Old Testament prophets, Rudolf Steiner describes in particular the mystery of the Baptist and his continuing work and the mysteries surrounding the twelve disciples. The Gospel of Mark, which appeals to the will, leads "in its sublime simplicity and dramatic intensification from the personality of John the Baptist to that of the Christ Jesus".
