The Golden Triangle is an equilateral triangle mentioned in the Temple Legend, which links to the construction of Solomon's Temple by Hiram Abiff. It is a symbol for the three highest, spiritual members of man: Manas, Buddhi and Atma. It is also depicted with rays emanating from it, enveloped by clouds and with the Eye of God in the centre:

The Golden Triangle (drawing from GA 265, p. 371

„The eye is the divine power eye behind all transient being, even behind the seven-limbed human nature. human nature. One attains an idea of this when one remembers Augustine's words:

"Man sees things as they are.
They are as God sees them."

Human vision is passive, things have to be there in order that man can see them. God's seeing creates in the looking things. The triangle around the eye is

Spirit self (Manas)
Life spirit (Budhi)
Spirit man (Atma)

The rays are the "I" - it shines the upper trinity through the I into the lower members of the human nature.

These are symbolised:

1. by the illuminated part of the clouds: the astral body
2. through the unlit part of the clouds: the etheric body
3. by the surrounding darkness: the physical body.“ (Lit.:GA 265, p. 371)
