Template documentation[view] [edit] [history] [purge]

This Template is used on image description pages to give them a uniform layout, and this template also ensures that the information is clearly assigned to the individual keywords. In addition, when uploading a file, it is ensured that all relevant information is mentioned, as this template can serve as a "checklist".

Another advantage of this template is that an automatic evaluation of the information is possible.

  • Description: What does the file represent? (What is in the photo and where was it taken)?
  • Source: Where does the file come from, or what does the file show?[1] (e.g. a URL or "photographed by myself").
  • Author: Who created it, or who made the content?[2] (if you are the author, enter your username or sign it with ~~).
  • Date: when was the file created and if applicable when was it first published?
  • Permission (only fill in if you are not the author, otherwise leave blank): How do you know that you are allowed to use the file at all? Has the author explicitly given you permission? Please forward the permission to permissions-de@wikimedia.org and don't forget to mention the file name!
  • Other versions (only fill in if other versions have been uploaded, otherwise leave blank): What is the name for another version of this file?
  • Notes (only fill in if you want to make a note, otherwise leave blank): Other notes.
  1. Note on source: If images are copied or traced with a graphics program, the source of the original image must also be given
  2. Note on the author: Please note that by tracing or photographing a copyrighted object, one does not usually acquire copyright. Therefore, in such a case, permission must be obtained from the person who owns the copyright in the original object. For this, please read the page Image rights.
