Mahaparanirvana plane

The mahaparinirvana plane or mahaparanirvana plane (from Sanskrit महा mahā "great, mighty, powerful", परि pari "all around, in the circumference; strong, fierce" and निर्वाण nirvāṇa "extinction" or literally "blown away") is the highest spiritual world plane that Rudolf Steiner describes in his writings and lectures. If one places oneself on the mahaparinirvana plane in waking dreams, one realises that everything solid has its true life here:

„What is solid apparently has no life. If one places oneself with life in the solid, which happens by living awake in the state called the dream world, and then visits the solid, for example, placing oneself in a rocky mountain landscape, then one feels one's own life changed in oneself, one feels one's life trickling through. One is not there with the consciousness, but with one's own life, the etheric body; one is then in a place, in a state, which is called the Mahaparinirvana plane. On this Mahaparinirvana plane is the life of the solid. This plane is the other pole of the solid. That one's life has been on the Mahaparinirvana plane can be perceived from other effects. When one comes back from there, one has experienced the influence of beings in the Mahaparinirvana state. That is where the solid stone has its life.“ (Lit.:GA 93a, p. 44f)
