Posthumous Treatises and Fragments 1879 - 1924

Nachgelassene Abhandlungen und Fragmente 1879 – 1924

This volume closes an important gap in Rudolf Steiner's Collected Works. It contains around 30 completed essays and 90 fragments from all of Steiner's creative periods, from his first literary activity to notes written shortly before his death. Some of these have already been published outside the Collected Works. The length ranges from one to several dozen printed pages, the thematic spectrum encompasses book reviews and scientific observations as well as the examination of occult writers, themes and concepts, but also autobiographical notes. Thus the texts collected here accompany the entire written work of Rudolf Steiner, form additions and provide new insights. The fragments prove to be a special type of text with often strikingly confessional, statement-like opening or closing passages. The chronological arrangement of the texts makes it possible to follow how Rudolf Steiner expressed himself in writing during the years of his life; at the same time, it shows what he occupied himself with in his tireless urge to research, in addition to all the urgent and burdensome tasks within his work.
